A Unified Approach to 3D Dimensioning
and Tolerancing in Cad Environment

Abstract: The theory of mechanical bases is proposed as a foundation of modeling the dimension and tolerance interrelations in a machine unit with regard to dimension calculations in machine design using CAD systems. The target is to build a CAD component for solving main problems of prescribing and adjusting tolerances. Formal and procedural elements of the implementation are discussed. Some theoretical conclusions are deduced.
